The Ultimate Headlight Restoration Service in Patterson

Restore Your Headlights, Get Better Visibility and Make Your Car Look Newer

Do your headlights have a foggy-hazy or yellowing look to them? Maybe you’ve noticed your visibility at night or during the rainy times is much lower. No worries, you don’t have to replace the housings which can be expensive nor do you have to open up your lens (as many people think the haziness is from the inside of the lens. Most of the time it’s not).

The build-up that occurs over years of driving can be dangerous due to the fact that it can make your headlights dim; therefore, putting you and your passengers in harms way.

Let us bring the clarity back and brighten up your drive.

The Ultimate Headlight Restoration Process

We don’t use a generic headlight repair kit that you can pick up at your local Walmart. We go through a full 5-step process of sanding, polishing and protecting to offer the best results.

Step 1

Sand Headlights with 500 grit

The first round of sanding is where the oxidation is removed. You’ll see a lot of slurry come off.

Step 2

Sand Headlights with 800 grit

As we move up the process with finer grit sandpaper we remove less oxidation. The focus now is to refine the sanding marks.

Step 3

Sand Headlights with 3,000 grit

This is the final step in the sanding process. You will see the headlight is looking much clearer.

Step 4

Polish the Headlights

We will refine the sanding marks by machine polishing with a polish specifically for polycarbonate material. This will bring out maximum clarity.

Step 5

Protect the Headlights

For protection, we’ll apply a 1-year coating. This will provide durable protection.

By sanding your headlights, we’re removing a thin layer of the polycarbonate that has failed and oxidized (which leads to the yellow-foggy look). Then we’ll polish out the remaining sanding marks to bring them back to a like-new condition. Finally, for protection we apply a 1-year coating.

Notice: We no longer offer headlight restorations as a stand-alone service. It will need to be combined with at least one other service.

Headlight Restoration FAQ's

Do you come to me?

We are a fully mobile unit and we come to your location whether that is home, work, gym or apartment. We do not offer headlight restoration as a stand alone service. You would have to pair it with another service like a Premium Was or Wash and Seal. We service the greater Stanislaus county and surrounding areas like Diablo Grande, Turlock, Modesto, Ripon, Ceres, Tracy, Manteca, Newman, Gustine, Mountain House, etc…

How long does this service take?

It depends on the size and condition, but it typically takes 45-90 minutes to complete. If the condition is severe, it will take longer.

Can you restore any headlights?

Like many things, once the headlights get to a certain point, there is only so much we can do to restore them to a like new condition. Your headlights can look better after we’re done, but there can also be permanent damage.

Why do my lens look terrible?

Your headlights are similar to your paint as they have a clear coat on them. As the sun beats down on them week after week, the clear coat starts to deteriorate. Eventually what was the clear coat turns into an ugly yellow layer of gunk.

Considering the heat that we get in Patterson, your headlights are exposed to maximum temperatures. If you park in direct sunlight for most of the day then that’s only going to add to the damage because of the polycarbonate material that the headlights are made of the clear coat on them doesn’t last nearly as long compared to the clear coat on your paint.

How do I keep my headlights looking good?

It can be a bit tricky. Typical waxes and sealants will only protect your car for so long. If you park your car in the shade most of the time, then they will simply last longer than if you park outside in the sun.

You can apply a sealant or wax to your headlights every 3-5 weeks. This can take less than 15 minutes to do and will help protect against the harsh UV rays.
